I’ve spent a lot of time working with stand-ups, usually at the point where the jokes are there but the set isn’t quite behaving yet. The work is mostly about clarity: what the joke is, what the set is doing, and how to make it land consistently in front of an audience.
This isn’t about “finding your voice” in some abstract way. It’s about making the material you already have work as well as it can.
